Nya Utrikespolitiska Samfundet – The New Foreign Policy Society (NUPS) and the Finnish-British Trade Association (FBTA) have the pleasure to invite their members to a lecture and a debate about the consequences of Brexit.
Our guest speaker is
Alastair Sutton
Mr Sutton has spent 46 years in Brussels, first inside the EU Commission and for 30 years as a practising EU lawyer. He has promised to speak around two themes: 1) the political/legal/constitutional situation in the UK, and 2) After Brexit: The scope and content of the future agreement between the EU and the UK.
He also wishes to convey his views on the illusion of the UK regaining its former role in the world by leaving the EU, and he has therefore chosen "Brexit – making Britain great again (and the UK more united)?" as his headline.
The first comment after his opening speech will be made by
Nicola Lindertz
Director, Unit for Central, Western and Southern Europe, Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Participants are invited to ask questions and share their views.
